Your Pukekohe weekday, delicious and healthy lunch go-to!
Hey, I'm Holly!
A little about Holly and how The Daily Goods was born…..
I’m Holly Jansen, a local, born and bred right here in Pukekohe, Franklin.
I’ve been a chef for 20 years now and food is my life! I have an vast array of experience in both New Zealand and London restaurants, bars and cafes.
After selling Town Mouse in 2018 I spent a while thinking about what my next step would be. Pre level 4 lockdown I was thinking of starting another café, when my brother suggested a food truck!
I had previously thought how cool it would be to offer a delivery lunch service providing healthy lunch options to hard working people during the week. Next minute I’m scouring Trade me for food trucks……a few months of throwing ideas around and The Daily Goods was born!
Cue 2022 and we moved into our own cafe space, while Gerty, the food truck, sips mojitos, loving the semi-retired life. You can meet Gerty below.
I love creating fresh, seasonal, sustainable, innovative and healthy food for you all to enjoy!
Meet Gerty!
GERTY IS LOOKING FOR A NEW HOME – CONTACT HOLLY IF YOU’RE INTERESTED IN PURCHASING HER!
A little about “Gerty” – She is stunning 1972 Citroen H Van, which was imported into New Zealand in 2014 from the UK by a lovely lady in Christchurch who spent a fair amount of time restoring her to her former glory.
She was used in both Christchurch and Wellington selling frozen yoghurt. Holly purchased “Gerty” in August 2020 and has repainted her and given her a new look!
Why “Gerty”?
We think she a bit of a tired, slightly overweight chunky French woman, who is a little grumpy!? Not sure…. try driving her!
She’s left hand drive, with suicide doors, column change manual, with no power steering! Not the easiest thing to manoeuvrer, but WE LOVE HER! And she enjoyed her travels in Pukekohe before heading to semi-retirement when Holly moved into a cafe.
